After the comparison shopping for an LCD to replace my current Sharp AQUOS LC20D42U (also verified), I settled on this TV.
I will write a book ", but the following are my first impressions."
As my outgoing sharp display had only 1 HDMI input the LG's 2 inputs are acceptable for my needs (HD cable/DVR and PS3) but for other more peripherals (alone Blu-ray, DVD, multiple gaming consoles as, etc.), 2 HDMI inputs may be insufficient. The Group has a component input (probably acceptable for use with a non-upscaling DVD player).
Unboxing the TV in my living room I cranked my lights to patch check / defects. During the TV in good condition, had the hand/fingerprints on the screen and the shiny black bezel multi-site. I'm not sure if this happened in the factory (made in Mexico) or if I an entity that previously have been unboxed (manuals, remotely, as were all still in sealed plastic ' so I'm rates factory), but it was a little disturbing at this price point. It took a few minutes extra wet to clean a cloth and the TV before it set up.
The glossy black bezel is inconspicuous ' it looks not bad, but it does look (and feel) a little cheap. This is no TV, I would install or place conspicuous ' especially for high-quality peripherals, audio devices or as the anchor expensive Entertainment Centre (of course it is doubtful that 32' TV Centre of an expensive piece of furniture usually like that make).
After setting up the TV, I turned on it apparently. I was immediately impressed. Like most new TVs, this one is pre-programmed to wild backlight standard / brightness / color settings (with the aim of display sets not erode under bright store lights, I suppose). After some time the picture mood, I able be to achieve settings that have been to my liking. The tuned image is pretty impressive at this price point ' build quality, even backlight, good levels for a CCFL-backlit TV and fairly accurate color black, although off angle could be better. Speaking of tuning, menu / interface is very simple and very easy to use ' both because of the good menu design and also configure any number of functions on this.
The features this brings me is not among the next generation of LCD TVs; It has not LED backlit, not 120 hz it, it's not thinner than a strand of hair, connect wirelessly or don't offer widgets or video streaming and it works no 3D (a feature that I sincerely hope not catch on for cinema or television ' who wants to 3D wear glasses all evening?).
But if you want to spend much, you need the TV to the piece are a conversation when it is off, need the TV functions that your other devices would probably eliminate and primarily decent picture quality and good value search ', then I would recommend this TV for you.
