The price is right for a flat screen HDTV

Thin, light, beautiful and more fun, these are the main characteristics of a flat-screen HDTV or high definition television, now add at affordable prices. Flat screen tv is available in various technologies of TV CRT, plasma, projection, flat-panel LCD and DLP. You will find that the size of the screen flat Panel HDTV also vary. Ranging from 20 inches to more than 70 cm. Now prices are flat and plunging to almost any size, technology and panel HDTV screen has never been more affordable.

Flat screens were also expensive, historically. In fact, a single flat screen HDTV as recently as a year ago had an average price tag of $ 1,500 to $ 20,000 depending on the technology of televisions, specifications and size. Some of the most expensive including the 70-inch Sony KDS-R70XBR2 and the popular Panasonic TH-42PX60U 42 "Plasma HDTV, to name but a few have seen significant price reductions in the past just 6 months.

Some industry experts believe that the average price of a flat-screen HDTV continues to Plummet the next year due to the creative innovations of new players. These so-called newbies, for example, in the business have Olevia began producing flat screen HDTV quality and cut production costs. In fact, it was reported in August 2006 that the average price for 40 inch flatscreen 44 inch LCD HDTV in North America dropped below those for plasma high definition HDTV's for the first time.

The price of LCD flat HDTV previously had always been higher than in Plasma flat panel TV 's. This being the case, there wasn't many 40-inch or larger LCD HDTV models manufactured. With the decrease in price and an increase in production that should already be seeing more LCD flat screen HDTV models, also from 40 inches and above, available at previously unheard of prices.

"We've seen this several times in the past," according to Rosemary Abowd, Vice President, Pacific Media Associates. "When the price of LCDs match or drop below the prices for HDTVs of the same size plasma, LCD to win. We expect that the LCD will account for most sales of units in 44 inch 40 inch range soon. "

You benefit from being able to buy a larger size flat screen HDTV, at a lower price. So regardless of the technology, due to the pressure of competition, industry and competitive pricing to buy a flat screen HDTV should be less painful to your bank account.

An industry expert Shelly Palmer, Managing Director of Advanced Media Ventures Group, LLC has stated that "all sets of similar prices are of similar quality. This may seem obvious, but it won't be obvious when you get to the store. A 42-inch set for $ 1200 is going to be of inferior quality compared to a set of 1200 $ 37 inches, right? Think again. All sets of 1,200 dollars are the same. All sets of $ 4,000 are the same. All sets of $ 10,000 are the same. There is way too much downward price pressure for this is not true. You can happily buy bigger for more convenient-you won't get hurt. "

Do your research. Determine exactly what you need in one flat screen HDTV. View fashion producers HD flatscreen popular as Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Sharp, LG and compare to some of the new guys. Don't let the price deter you from buying a flat screen HDTV, now that the price is right.

Flat Screen HDTV connections

With respect to the establishment of all connections, to buy a flat screen HDTV is the easy part. In fact, the correct cables to connect the right inputs and outputs of the proper equipment can be a challenge, especially for those who are not tech savvy, so make sure you read the basics first before taking the job.

Types of connections

Usually, one flatscreen HDTV delivers two basic types of connections-digital and analog connections or connections HD, although some are only with the latter. Analog connections are radio frequency (RF), composite video and S-video connections, which can be used to connect the cable boxes, DVD players, VCRs, antennas and some game consoles, including S-video has the ability to offer the highest quality video. There are also analog audio connections for older audio receivers and stereo components.

HD connections, on the other hand, consist of or YPbPr component video, FireWire, or IEEE 1394, VGA or PC input, DVI and HDMI connections, which are what we should be looking, if you want to enjoy the highest quality audio and video from your HDTV. Check for HDMI connections, in particular, because these provide superb audio quality and HD video from multiple sources, including HD cable boxes, Blu-Ray players, surround sound speakers, HDTV Tuners and latest game console.

Your cable box

To get the cable on your HDTV, you simply connect the wire from the cable box then connect the box to the back of your HDTV using a RF, composite, S-video or HDMI connection, depending on the type of cable box and the input you have available on your HDTV. If you want to record that your favorite shows on a HD DVR as a TiVo box, which you need to connect your cable DVR box before instead of connecting directly to the HDTV, then connect your DVR to HDTV via the links provided.

Connect the speakers

To enjoy the superior sound quality offered by your HDTV, it is recommended that you connect external speakers, if a pair of stereo speakers or four, six or seven surround speakers. You cannot connect directly to your HDTV, though. Rather, you must first connect the AV receiver that comes with the system and then connect the AV receiver for HDTV. Make sure to connect the wires to the right on the receiver. For example, if the pair of wires is coming from the front right speaker, they must be connected to the front right inputs with labeled, particularly for the doors to match the color of each.

Connect to your Computer

In addition, we recommend that you use your flat screen HDTV as monitor of the computer. Otherwise, you will need to obtain a high quality video card for your computer and then connect CPU for HDTV via the output provided on paper. If the paper is only an S-video, component video, or VGA output, you will need to run an audio cable from the sound card CPU for HDTV, as well. You can also connect your laptop to your HDTV if you want to use as your DVD or Blu-Ray, which is a good idea, especially if your laptop has a HDMI output.

Connect the game Console

You can also play video games for consoles on your flat screen HDTV. In fact, most HDTVs have a dedicated game mode that disables the video processing to eliminate the delay of the controller. There are two ways to connect your game console through the AV receiver or directly to your HDTV. In both cases, the type of cable you need depends on your game console. Wii game consoles have component video outputs, while the Xbox and PlayStation console HDMI for superior video quality.

As regards the other equipment, watch their outputs available so shop for the correct cable. Don't hesitate to ask at the electronics store, if you're not sure what cable you need. The set-up depends on the types of equipment that you have as well, as many of them will want to use with your flat screen HDTV. If you use a lot of material, you might want to go with a wireless hub, so that the back of your HDTV is not too crowded. You can get a universal remote control, as well.

Flat Screen HDTV buying advice

Going big seems to be a popular option when it comes to HDTV. Projection HDTVs, are good choices when looking for performance of the big screen, but really don't fall into the category. Although there are many models of HDTV, LCD HDTV certainly is emerging as a popular favorite. This should come as no surprise. The advantages of a flat panel HDTV that produces clear images on a screen much great, but it is quite thin and light enough to be hung on the wall are very attractive. Not only are the eye-catching aesthetics, but the technology improved and demand have caused prices to drop considerably.

Once you have decided to buy a flat screen HDTV, the next step is to choose LCD or Plasma. There are also "LED TV". LEDs are a separate technology for HDTV. LED LCD TV models are only using LED backlighting. Plasma HDTV work much like a fluorescent light. A gas is formed by an electric charge, and this process gives off ultraviolet light that makes glow phosphors. Images of LCD displays are produced by shining bright light (backlit) through the displacement of a liquid crystal that can block or transmit light.

If you're looking at screens up to 42-inch LCD is pretty much your only choice. When you consider the biggest flat screen HDTVs 50 inches and larger, you must determine what format or technology fits your needs and your wallet.

Most flat-screen HDTV out there fashion is now widescreen. Models have a widescreen 16: 9 ratio, which means that for every 16 inches wide screen will have 9 inches deep. This is also very close to the ratio of the movie that you would see in a theater.

Flat panel plasma HDTV

Fashion plasma HDTV is usually purchased in the range 60-65 inches. You can get a little smaller and also much larger. Prices may start at around $ 600. 00 and go up to 15000.00 $ so for the above models.

Plasma fashion at lower prices often have a poor image. Very often the budget models produce high quality grey and black, and more often than not have poor contrast that translates into less coarser details and images on the display.

Although you can still get 720 p Plasma HDTV is not recommended. Stick with the models that are 1080p. This is the preferred option by Dish Network, Blu-ray and other services and will soon be the standard.

Due to the use of Phosphors, plasma screen TVs, HDTVs can experience "burn-in". This is a more common problem with older models. Burn-in is usually caused by a static image, much like a logo which is constantly present on the screen. This can be eliminated by proper contrast settings. If you know that you have an old model of plasma, avoid to maintain sharpness and contrast settings too high. Newer models are equipped with plasma "pixel shifting" to prevent burn-in.

Don't forget the audio. Although most flat-panel plasma HDTV sets now come with built-in speakers, there are still some that are just videos that do not have a tuner or speakers. It seems ridiculous, but be sure to check out the specs before buying.

LCD Flat Screen HDTV

Unlike Plasmas, can have a flat screen LCD HDTV in a much wider range of screen sizes. You can find 15 inch sizes up to 60 inches and larger. Compared to their predecessors CRT (cathode ray tubes), the LCD will cost a bit more. However, this is only in small screen sizes, which would be 30 inches and below. With larger screen sizes, flat-screen LCD HDTV's are very competitive with plasma big screen HDTVs. The good news is that prices have fallen more than 20% in the last year.

The display quality of a flat-screen LCD HDTV is still under fire from plasma displays. Contrast, the production of black and gray and response times do not seem to be quite as good as plasma screens. This means that sometimes, depending on trained as the eye of the spectator is, action scenes or fast sports may seem obfuscated. This was a problem in the past, but the new LCD technology seems to have passed this in newer models available.

Compared to plasma LCD can be one of a few centimeters thicker. They have even less of an angle of vision. This means that if you are off by one side may be more difficult to visualize an LCD screen of a plasma. However, a flat screen LCD HDTV has no burn issues, run cooler, can be viewed easily in overexposure rooms and has all the features that we have come to expect from conventional television. LCD also weigh far less than their plasma counterparts are more portable and can be easily configured anywhere you like.

It is difficult to determine which people are all tastes or needs. You know what it is that you want from your flat-screen HDTV. Plasma HDTV LCD HDTV that has their good points and bad, and the technology of the latest models of both types worked most of them.

The next question would be, how much you want to spend? Basically, LCD would be the obvious choice. Flat screen LCD HDTV are available in multiple screen sizes and are easier to use in more situations and cost less than plasma screens. Even if the display can be a bit better with a plasma HDTV, you need to ask whether it is worth the price difference.

When faced with this same decision went with LCD display and are very pleased with my choice. I went from shop to shop to check out of models and prices. Most of the employees in these stores the largest electronics were not very well informed and very helpful at all. I found online and finally bought my HDTV flat-screen TVs, two on-line. My experience of buying on-line went very smooth and my TV arrived at my door within a week.
